Guest Post: Components Every Service Page Needs to Convert Visitors Into Paying Customers (Must Read)

Now that you’ve decided to create a service-based business in your community, the next logical step is to design a website with a service page telling potential customers all about the ways you can help them. A service page is crucial to your success. If you get it wrong, you’ll have a tough time turning visitors into paying customers.

There are certain components every service page needs if it’s going to convert visitors into paying customers. Do you have experience creating lead generating service pages? If not, please pay attention and wisely use the components we’re about to share with you today.

The Value of High-Quality Web Design

Online users are heavily influenced by visual web design. Proper design plays a role in whether or not a person finds a website trustworthy. On the flipside, designing your website poorly can create a sense of mistrust. If a visitor does not trust your website, they will obviously leave and forgo exploring your site and services even further.

To create an effective, trustworthy service page, we recommend adding the following components to every page you create. They include:

1. An Accessible Navigation Menu

Visitors tend to visit a website’s homepage most often out of every page on a site. Your service page is equally important as your homepage though, because this page typically convinces visitors to enter your sales funnel to learn more about your services and valuable free offer.

Make your website’s navigation as simple as it can possibly be. It should be clearly visible in the sidebar or on the top of the page. You navigation link should be kept to a minimum. If you provide visitors with too many choices, they often become overwhelmed and will potentially bounce from your site if they have a negative experience.

2. White Space Is Your Friend

Why leave ample white space on your page? The most common web design mistake is to cram a page and fill it with too much stuff. This creates a cluttered, chaotic look without any order. Design your service page using a minimal layout since it makes it easier for visitors to navigate the site and it creates a greater sense of clarity.

3. Add Priority Content above the Fold

When we say above the fold, we mean visible content the reader immediately sees on the upper part of the website. If you were to visit your favorite site on the web, the content above the fold would be immediately visible to you without scrolling.

Why add priority content here? Obviously, you want your visitor to see the most important information first. So when you add your content above the fold, please include the following information: your business name, clearly state your value proposition, a visible navigation menu, your contact details, and a call to action button.

4. And Speaking of Calls to Action…

When an interested visitor lands on your website, your goal is not only to get them to click through to your service page, but you want them to enter your sales funnel. They can either opt-in to your email list, or call to schedule a consultation, or any other method to move them further along your sales funnel.

In your call to action, you want to focus on two things. For starters, it should have an attention grabbing design. The call to action button should really stand out and get the visitor’s attention. Second, you must state a clear value proposition. If your call to action doesn’t clearly state your value proposition and the benefits the visitor can expect, it will not be as effective and your visitor may choose one of your competitors instead.

Conclusion

To create an effective service page, please use every one of the components we’ve shared today. You’ll have a much easier time converting visitors into paying customers if you do.
